The eye-catching design of Balmain’s latest luxury bag, the Balmain Anthem, channels two of the most important strands contained within the historic Parisian fashion house’s extraordinary DNA: the timeless, immediately recognizable Balmain silhouette, and the many remarkable relationships that the house has maintained, over eight decades, with some of the music world’s most talented artists.
Cinched with the same bold ceinture that Balmain Creative Director Olivier Rousteing often turns to for a compelling finishing touch, the Anthem celebrates the nipped-waist silhouettes of Pierre Balmain’s most iconic sculptural couture creations.
“The Anthem, just like every one of my collections for the house, builds directly upon the timeless allure of Monsieur Balmain’s audacious New French Style," explains Olivier Rousteing.
“My team and I have also ensured that the Anthem clearly reflects the spirit of today’s 21st-Century Balmain, with the bag riffing on the bold shoulders that I have sent down so many runways, as well as the precision Parisian tailoring for which our Balmain atelier is so famous.”

Anthem’s distinctive name shines a spotlight on another important aspect of the house’s singular history: Balmain’s many fascinating and enduring relationships with some of the most gifted musical artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. Pierre Balmain famously dressed the legends of his era—including Juliette Greco, Dalida, Marlene Dietrich and the incomparable Josephine Baker.
The Anthem comes in distinct sizes which can be either be carried over the shoulder or stylishly clutched as a pouch, with the shoulder strap tucked inside the bag.
